Distinguished Delegation from SLTF Joins AAHEFA Annual Conference in Namibia

In a significant development, a high-level delegation from the Students Loan Trust Fund-Ghana (SLTF) graced the annual Association of African Higher Education Financing Agencies (AAHEFA) International Conference and Annual General Meeting held in Swakopmund, Namibia. The delegation, consisting of SLTF-Ghana CEO; Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah, the Head of Research Information Monitoring & Evaluation (RIME) Directorate; Mr. Jupiter Nyamadi, and the Head of Finance Unit; Mr. Frederick Asare Amoah, played a pivotal role in discussions that could reshape the landscape of higher education financing across the African continent.

The central theme of this year’s conference was “Revolutionizing African Higher Education Student Funding through Emerging Technologies and Funding Eco-systems for Sustainability”.

The event aimed to facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas and strategies to enhance higher education funding in Africa.

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in discussions on various pertinent topics. These discussions encompassed Digital Transformation and Innovation, the Challenges associated with Higher Education Funding, and the corresponding Strategies to tackle them. The importance of forging Partnerships and Collaborative Approaches was also discussed.

Moreover, the imperative of ensuring Access to Equitable and Inclusive Funding for all students was a focal point of deliberations.

The CEO of SLTF-Ghana; Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah, who also serves as the Chairman for the Membership Drive and Partnership Committee, had the honor of presenting Sierra Leone with a prestigious Membership Certificate, formally inducting the nation into the esteemed association. This momentous occasion signifies Sierra Leone’s commitment to enhancing higher education financing and its dedication to collaborating with fellow Africa nations to achieve these goals.

The SLTF-Ghana delegations’ participation in the AAHEFA conference underscores the fund’s dedication to exploring innovative financing solutions for higher education and its commitment to contributing to the broader African higher education landscape. With the insights gained from this conference, SLTF-Ghana is poised to play a pivotal role in revolutionizing student funding in the region, ultimately benefiting students and institutions alike. At the end of the conference, Ghana emerged as the winner to host the 2024 AAHEFA International Conference.
